Today I am going to take you on a neat little hike over an old volcano called Koko Head.
Here is one side of da crater which is where we will be hiking to.
From da rim of da crater, you look down on beautiful Hanauma Bay.
The south end of Koko Head eroded into da sea causing da ocean to fill it in, forming this protected bay that offers wonderful snorkeling.
Mommy says Yorkies can't snorkel, but I bet I could prove her wrong. I am SuperBry, I can do anything!!
Usually when I go walking, Mommy makes me wear my dreaded Gooby Boots. I'm not too fond of them.
But when hiking on rugged terrain such as this, it would be impossible for me to wear my booboos (as I call them)
and I would most likely end up twisting my tiny ankle, so Mommy lets me go barepawed instead!
Gotta make sure I watch where I step on this hike, they have strange looking prickly cactus all over da place!
WOW! What a view! Doesn't that water sure look inviting?
I wonder if Mommy will let me take a quick skinny dip.
This is a view I don't tire of very easily.
In da background is another volcano called Koko Crater. It is da tallest crater on the island of Oahu.
It's a perfect day for a hike. Warm sun, cool breeze, and best of all .... no stinkin' booboos to wear!
Time for a rest and a lunch break.
"Hey Mom, pass me dat egg salad sandwich, will ya? YUM! YUM!"
Da view looking South. Nothin' but da big ol' Pacific Ocean as far as you can see.
We been hiking quite a while, but I am not tired.
Nope, I am SuperBry, I jus keep goin and goin and goin....
Now we gettin' to da hard part where we gotta climb back up- up- up- out of da crater. Whew, what a job.
On dis section of da hike, you find some very strange lava rocks stuck in da earth.
I almost feel like I am on da moon!
I guess a long time ago, Koko Head let loose and all deez rocks flew up in da air, and landed in da molten lava where they still stick today.
Glad I wasn't hiking on that day!!
